The White
Lighthouse was was originally set up by Sarah Hawkins in 2008 as
an alternative to her personal website and a way to promote the
black and white photogram work she was producing atthe time. The
name was born from a combination of the White Light that makes a
photogram possible and The White House; the nick name for her flat,
that is painted almost entirely white inside.
The website
is a way of promoting Artists and Craftspeople that she came into
contact with, providing an advertising platform for emerging talent,
promoting them and their work and providing links to individual
sites and shops. But if you are reading this and would like to be
added to the artists page then please contact us.
In
the future The White Lighthouse plans to organise their own craft
events and exhibitions to really get the work out into the public
eye; some of the artists have already exhibited together on various
successful shows in the past.
